![]() ![]() Over both days, this partner coalition successfully met with 13 offices and members in both the Assembly and Senate to discuss the close relationship that cardrooms have with their local communities and to the importance of maintaining steady support for them moving forward. On Monday June 13th and Tuesday June 14th, JPA Members Chair Jesse Alvarado, Secretary Alejandra Cortez, the Commerce Casino (John Griffo), Gardens Casino (Keith Sharp) and Executive Director Juan Garza recently completed a visit to Sacramento to meet with state legislators to discuss a number of topics facing California cities and their cardrooms, including the negative effects that Proposition 26 will have on local economies and jobs, as well as the need to extend a statewide cardroom moratorium.
